Taupo and Surrounding Region
Taupo itself offers a plethora of adventure activities, including bungy jumping, tandem skydiving, jetboating, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, quad biking, mountain biking, parasailing and more. Additional options within a two-hour drive of Taupo are extensive, and include:

- Waitomo Caves, famous for its black water rafting, abseiling and glow worms
- Tongariro National Park, a World Heritage Park and home to three volcanoes and many beautiful hikes, including the Tongariro Crossing, one of the most spectacular one-day hikes in New Zealand
- Hawkes Bay, famous for its wine as well as the art deco architecture of Napier and several beautiful beaches
- Rotorua, New Zealand's version of Yellowstone, with active geysers, mud pools, mineral spas and Maori culture, as well as the luge and the Zorb (roll down a hill inside a giant silicone ball)
- Whakatane, where you can take a boat out to the active volcano on White Island, charter a fishing boat for the day, or enjoy swimming in the Pacific Ocean at Ohope Beach.
In amongst all of this adrenalin-inducing adventure, you may want to enjoy some relaxation and leisure activities too. Perhaps a relaxation massage at the lodge, a soak in the hot tub, or a few hours of pampering at Taupo Hot Springs, where you can bathe, relax and unwind in thermal waters that have risen to the earth's surface hot and enriched with natural minerals. Maybe lunch at the local winery or at one of the many boutique cafes. Perhaps a romantic dining experience at one of Taupo's many fine restaurants. And a must-do as long as weather permits: A cruise on Lake Taupo or a few hours of boat fishing for our world-famous wild trout, or, for the more adventurous, a day of fly fishing on one of our spectacular rivers.
Whatever your idea of a dream honeymoon is, let us hear from you and we'll do everything we can to help make your dream come true.
