Tauhara Sunrise reviews on Trip Advisor

Two recent reviews of Tauhara Sunrise Lodge on Trip Advisor give a guest perspective on staying at this upscale yet casual lodge overlooking Lake Taupo in the centre of NZ's North Island.

"It's a wonderful combination of the comforts of home and the benefits of a vacation" says the first reviewer. "The food, the wine, quality of lodging and hospitality are excellent. Rob is a music buff and has an extensive collection of music for your listening enjoyment. He also enjoys fine wines and will share advice on vineyards of the region. He's also helped us plan day trips and fishing expeditions in the Taupo area. Becky is an absolute delight, and I crave her homemade yoghurt. Her warm smile and gentle manner make you feel right at home the minute you meet her. Her warmth makes the tensions of home disappear from your shoulders. If that doesn't work, she's a certified massage therapist and she'll massage your cares away. You know you've found "the" spot when you relax as you walk through the door, appreciate the comforts provided, have the independence to do other activities, and are sad when it's time to leave."

The second reviewer, who maintains his own travel blog, describes Tauhara Sunrise as one of his favorite places in the world. He says "the food, the hospitality, the wine and the friendly atmosphere make this a must stay. The view from every room is breathtaking and is a constantly changing panorama that makes for some great photo opportunities."

The New Zealand dollar has fallen considerably against the British pound, the Euro, the US dollar and the Australian dollar recently, which makes New Zealand vacations much more affordable. Tauhara Sunrise is an ideal base from which to explore the central North Island. Rotorua is just one hour away, world heritage Tongariro National Park is 1 1/2 hours, Waitomo Caves are 1 3/4 hours and Napier and the Hawkes Bay wine district is 2 hours.
