Taupo Accommodation: Options for All

Taupo accommodation options have expanded considerably over the past five years, due largely to the fact that Taupo is being "discovered" by international tourists as a jewel in the centre of New Zealand's North Island.

So how long should you stay in Taupo? Obviously that depends on your interests and your total time available in New Zealand. Taupo has not only its own sights, activities and attractions, but is an ideal hub from which to explore Rotorua, Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Tongariro National Park and the Hawkes Bay wine district. So, if you have these destinations on your agenda, consider basing yourself in Taupo and taking daily trips - that way you can unpack, relax and return home each evening to familiar surroundings.
