Taupo Lodge to host concert featuring 3 iconic New Zealand songwriters

It's not often that you have an opportunity to see three talented NZ songwriters perform together, let alone in the intimate setting of a luxury lodge.

On October 3, 2009, songwriters Wayne Mason (ex Fourmyula, Rockinghorse, The Warratahs), Andrew London of Hot Club Sandwich and The Mod Squad, and Rob Winch who has performed with Midge Marsden, 1860 Band, and the Rodger Fox Big Band, will share their musical gifts with a small audience under a marquee at Tauhara Sunrise. Space is limited to the first 60 RSVPs. The cost of entry is $30 per person. Everyone also needs to bring a plate of food to contribute to the buffet (very informal), whatever they want to drink, plus a folding chair.

Tauhara Sunrise is the first Lake Taupo lodge to host such concerts and owner Rob McEwen believes that it is also a first amongst boutique luxury lodges in New Zealand. "This will be the fourth such concert we've hosted. We have found that there is a real demand for live music amongst the more mature audience who love live music but do not enjoy it in a bar setting," says Rob.
